PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly display an image, which is expressed by HTML contents supplied through a network like the Internet, on a display device of a communication terminal device like a portable telephone or a PHS. SOLUTION: An HTML read part 302 analyzes a tag or the like in HTML contents received through the network. A display control part 301 generates a full-scale virtual display image on the basis of the analysis result in the HTML read part 302 and stores it in an image memory 303. The display control part 301 expands or reduces the stored virtual display image on the basis of information related to user's expansion (reduction) operation from an operation part 203 and stores it in an image memory 304. The display control part 301 uses the expanded or reduced virtual display image to generate a display image congruous to an allowable display area.
