PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and precisely estimate the manufacturing cost of a product. SOLUTION: A system for estimating manufacturing cost 1 has parts information database 10 where parts which are manufactured in the past are registered and data on the registered parts are stored. Manufacturing process data affecting the manufacturing cost is included in the parts information database 10. The registered parts similar to the parts of the product are selected from the parts information database 10 which is thus constructed. The manufacturing cost of the parts of the product is calculated based on the manufacturing cost of the registered parts similar to the product and the manufacturing cost of the product is estimated. At the time of calculating the manufacturing cost of the parts of the product, manufacturing process data on the registered parts is referred to. |
