PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera whose major failure can be prevented from occurring by inhibiting release operation in the abnormal operation of a movable lens group. SOLUTION: This camera is equipped with a lens optical system having a second movable lens group 102 in a lens barrel. When failure occurs in the moving operation of the second lens group 102, it is stored as a lens barrel error in a CPU, and the release operation is inhibited when the lens barrel error is stored. Thus, the major failure is prevented from occurring because the release operation is performed in the case of failure in the movement of the second lens group 102. |
