<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector whose resolution is enhanced without increasing the arrangement number of photomultipliers. SOLUTION: The radiation detector is composed of many scintillation crystals 10 which are arranged in both the X-direction and the Y-direction on the X-Y plane, which are arranged so as to be deviated by 1/2 of a pixel interval in the X-direction and which form respective pixels, four photomultipliers 30 which are arranged in both the X-direction and the Y-direction on the X-Y plane in such a way that they are optically coupled to the crystals 10 via light guides 20 and a signal processing circuit 40 to which the outputs of the photomultipliers 30 are input so as to find the positions of the crystals, by which a value in the intermediate point of the pixel interval in pixel rows arranged in the X- direction is interpolated on the basis of the mean value of pixel values in positions corresponding to both pixel rows in the pixel rows.</p> |
