PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an observation elevator without a hoistway fence allowing maintaining safely and efficiently a car glass without stopping the elevator. SOLUTION: This observation elevator without the hoistway fence has a gutter member mounted below the elevator cage for receiving rain water dropping along the car glass or a car glass upper part armored plate material of an elevator cage and for leading it outside a glass surface. Thereby the elevator can be used always in a clean state without rain dew drops, dust or fog on the glass surface and the car glass can be safely maintained without stopping the elevator.
