PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a connector capable of simplifying a mold structure and a mold structure of the connector. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the connector comprises the step of forming a retainer mounting hole 13 through a connector housing 10 by a mounting hole forming pin 29. The method further comprises the steps of forming the housing 10 and the retainer 11, and then assembling the retainer 11 from an opposite side to the side for drawing the pin 29 from the hole 13. Thus, since the interference of the pin 29 with the retainer 11 is avoided, the mold structure can be simplified. Since the operating directions of the sections of the mold unit 20 are only the biaxial directions of vertical and lateral directions (X- and Y-axis directions) in its structure, molding spaces of a plurality of connectors can be aligned and provided along a third axial direction (longitudinal direction, that is, a Z-axis direction) in the unit 20. Thus, components can be simultaneously molded and assembled for many connectors in the one unit 20.
