Device and method for flow control in a switched network

The digital stream control method has a switch (20) borrowing physical connections. Each switch has an allocation table (T) defining statistics associated with a pass band of the virtual connections guaranteeing a maximal information delay on the virtual connection. The allocation is such that for each physical connection, the sum of the pass bands allocating the different virtual connections with borrowed physical connections is lower than the pass band of the physical connection.
