PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding cylinder driving device for a folder of a rotary press such as an offset rotary press for newspaper with improved space efficiency and facilitate device assembling property and maintenance. SOLUTION: In the driving device for the folding cylinder 3 provided in the folder of the rotary press, a first rotary driving system for driving a driving gear 5 for rotating the folding cylinder 3 and a second rotary driving system for driving rotary driving systems 22 and 8 of a folding blade system arranged inside of the folding cylinder 3 are separately formed from each other. A rotary driving source 12 for the second rotary driving system is separately provided from a rotary driving source (power IN) of the first rotary driving system.
