PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge B which prevents a photoreceptor drum and a process means from abutting on each other to flaw each other without a protection sheet and to provide a process cartridge B which prevents the photoreceptor drum 7 and process means 8 from deforming by abutting on each other even when a shock is applied without the need to make the photoreceptor drum 7 and process means 8 excessively strong. SOLUTION: A protection member 150 for protecting a photoreceptor drum 7 fitted detachably to the process cartridge B which has the photoreceptor drum 7 and a process means 8 operating on the photoreceptor drum 7, supports the process means 8 rotatably, and energizes the photoreceptor drum 7 so that a fine gap is held is characterized by that the process means 8 is separated from the photoreceptor drum 7 linking with the loading operation of the process cartridge B.
