ON-VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT INCORPORATING INSPECTION PROGRAM AND ITS INSPECTING DEVICE, AND INSPECTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit capable of improving the operation efficiency of an inspection device and the inspecting method by discriminating the machine types of the various control units, which are supplied in an arbitrary order and performing inspection in accordance with the individual control units by one inspection device without the need of limiting the inspection device to the inspection of one specified type of the control unit. SOLUTION: Inspection programs where the procedures of dedicated inspection are set are stored in inspection program storage parts on the respective control units for every kind of control unit. The inspection programs are transferred to the rewritable inspection program storage parts in the inspection device by a communication means and the inspection device performs inspection. Thus, the machine type of the control unit being the object of inspection is discriminated for every inspection, appropriate input and load are given to the control unit and the inspection procedure is performed.
