PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for connecting film capable of selectively connecting an intermediate position between adjacent sprocket holes to a central position of the hole without fixing a connecting end of the film to the intermediate position between the adjacent holes when the ends to be connected of the film and connected to each other by an adhesive tape, and a method for cutting off the film therefor. SOLUTION: The method for connecting the film comprises the steps of interposing a detachable spacer member between a cutter member of a cutter and an end of a base body to change a position of the film to the base body of the cutter member of the cutter in its length direction, cutting an unnecessary part of the film, forming the connecting ends of the film, and connecting the connecting ends of the film.
