PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder hard to cause the non-feeding and double feeding of a sheet in a sheet feeder. SOLUTION: This sheet feeder comprises a pick roller for feeding out the sheet, a feed roller disposed forward of the pick roller and movably installed on a rotating shaft, a separator disposed in proximity to the feed roller and separating, one by one, the sheets fed by the pick roller, an actuator displacing the feed roller in the axial direction of the rotating shaft so that a distance between the feed roller and the separator can be varied, and a control means for controlling the actuator.
