PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking device of a transmission capable of enhancing driving safety without lowering driving operability by preventing the generation of lock of a parking gear caused by the engagement of an engagement member (sprag 2) with the tooth part of the parking gear by a reaction, etc., of a pushing up force by riding onto a stepped part at the time of traveling of a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the parking device of the transmission, a dead weight 10 is provided at an opposite position to the engagement part, engaged with the parking gear transmission to inhibit a rotation, of the engagement member pivotably supported to a support shaft 6. The gravity of the dead weight 10 is applied to the direction that the engagement member is left from the tooth part of the parking gear 1.
