PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent steering feeling over a long time by smoothly sliding a rack guide in a holding hole. SOLUTION: This steering device is so structured that a film layer 4 formed of a solid lubricant such as molybdenum disulfide is formed on the circumferential surface of the rack guide 3 slidably held in the inside of the holding hole 30 penetrating a holding housing H3 and elastically contacting to the back of a rack shaft 1 and thereby, the slide of the rack guide 3 in the holding hole 30 is smoothly generated under the lubricating action of the film layer 4.
