PLACING SECTION LINING STRUCTURE OF VESSEL FOR MOLTEN METAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the effect of wear resistance by a coating material in a placing section lining structure provided with the lining material and eventually to prolong the life over the entire part of the lining of a vessel for molten metal. SOLUTION: At least a hot metal contact part 4 of the placing section lining is coated with the lining material 5 prepared by adding an aqueous sodium silicate solution or powder sodium silicate and water to refractory aggregate consisting of siliceous refractory superfine powder as a chief material. The microcracks and open cells of the lining are packed and closed by the vitrification of the siliceous refractory superfine powder, by which the wear resistance is improved.
