An air treatment device, comprising: an air treatment section operable to treat a first flow of air drawn from an ambient volume; a controller configured to control the air treatment section; a user interface configured to display, for selection by a user, at least one static or open-loop operational mode to be executed by the controller; and a wall facing the ambient volume on a first side and comprising one or more pervious sections, wherein a second side of the wall, which is opposite to said first side, comprises a connector for mating with a corresponding connector of a detachable sensor module; wherein the connector, when the sensor module is present, enables a data connection from the sensor module to the controller; wherein the user interface, when the data connection is enabled, is configured to display at least one closed-loop operational mode, in which the controller controls the air treatment section in response to measurement data relating to the ambient volume received from the sensor module; and wherein the controller is configured to control the air treatment section with the at least one static or open-loop operational mode when the connector of the detachable sensor module is not connected to the connector of the second side of the wall. | ||
