PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of keeping the thickness of the coating film on a substrate constant even if used for a long time. SOLUTION: The coating apparatus 10 has a smooth cylinder 11 having a smooth surface, an impression cylinder 12 for pressing a base material 15 together with the smooth cylinder 11 and a doctor device 20 for scraping off the coating liquid 18 on the smooth cylinder 11. The doctor device 20 consists of the doctor device main body 20a and a plurality of the scraping plates 21 extending from the doctor device main body 20a toward the smooth cylinder 11. When the coating liquid 18 is supplied to the smooth cylinder 11 from an ink supply roll 13, the coating liquid 18 on the smooth cylinder 11 is scraped off by the scraping plates 21 of the doctor device 20.
