PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve excellent radiography by driving a grid so that moire fringes caused by the grid appearing on an image are not prominent. SOLUTION: First, after an X-ray irradiation button 8 is on, accumulation of X-ray signals is started in a sensor part 3. The accumulation continues till the X-ray intensity acquired from an X-ray timing acquisition means 5 is zero. In an X-ray irradiation part l, a specific delay exists after the X-ray irradiation button 8 is on till X rays are actually irradiated. The delay is measured by using the X-ray timing acquisition means 5 and the time to start the accumulation in the sensor part 3 is determined. The timing for moving the grid 2 is adjusted so that the effective part of the moving grid 2 covers the irradiation of X rays. As a result, the contrast of fringes is reduced and the fringes are hardly prominent.
