PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partly reversible rotary tiller enabling good tilling work without causing the dashing and slippage of the machine body even on a field of hard soil. SOLUTION: The rotary tiller of partly reverse rotation type is provided with a 1st tine shaft cylinder positioned at a side of a tilling transmission case and a 2nd tine shaft cylinder concentrically positioned at a side in the axial direction and rotating antinomically with the 1st cylinder. The 2nd cylinder is made to be longer than the 1st cylinder, the long 2nd cylinder is rotated in upcut rotation manner and the short 1st cylinder is rotated in downcut rotation manner. The tilling width of the tilling tine group of the upcut rotating 2nd tine shaft cylinder is made to be wider than the total tilling width of the tilling tines of the downcut rotating 1st tine shaft cylinder.
