PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the generation of bacteria and mold. SOLUTION: A dish washer and dryer 1 is provided with a casing 2 having a washing tub 3 for storing dishes, a water supply means (water supply electromagnetic valve 6) for supplying water into the washing tub 3, a heating means (a heater 9) for heating washing water or rinsing water supplied into the washing tub 3, a draining means (a pump 14) for draining washing water and rinsing water in the tub 3 to outside, drying means (a blow fan 21 and a drying heater 23) for heating the tub 3 and dry the dishes and a control means (a microcomputer 26) for controlling the water supply means, the heating means, the draining means and the drying means to perform a washing process, a rinsing process and a drying process. The control means counts a non-usage time after the respective processes, operates the heating means when the non-usage time exceeds a set time and heats water remaining inside the washing tub 3, or the drying means 3 is operated to dry the washing tub 3.
