PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an endoscope which is good in operability and enables exact observation and medical treatment without effort. SOLUTION: The endoscope 2 has a first bending section and second bending section which are constituted by freely turnably connecting more than one joint blocks to the distal end side of an insertion portion and a grip section 12 which is successively disposed on the base end side of the insertion portion and has a control section 12a to make the bending control, etc. of the first and second bending sections possible. This control section 12a is provided with a first angulation control section 42 which is provided with angulation control knobs 42a and 42a' for carrying out the angulation control of the first bending section and first lock levers 42b and 42b' for locking the angulation control lever knob 42a at a desired rotating position and a second angulation control section 44 which is provided with an electric switch section 43 provided with a remote switch 43a, a second angulation control lever 44a for carrying out the angulation control to the second bending section and a second lock lever 44b for locking the second angulation control lever 44a at a desired position.
