PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for coating which is easy to inset a rod into and easy to be assembled with excellent workability. SOLUTION: The roller for coating comprises a cylindrical cover C provided with a brush part 15 in the outer circumference, a bearing member B to be inserted and fixed in the cover C, a through hole 16 formed in the bearing member B, a rod 11 inserted into the through hole 16, and a fixing cylinder 13 for preventing the rod 11 from coming out of the through hole 16, where the rod 11 supports the cover C in freely rotatable manner through the bearing member B. In the roller, a widened diameter part 18 with an inner diameter larger than that of the through hole 16 is formed in the middle of the through hole 16 of the bearing member B and on the other hand, a slit 17 is formed in the fixing cylinder 13 in the longitudinal direction and while being contracted in the diameter, the fixing cylinder 13 is pushed in from either one side of the bearing member B so as to incorporate the fixing cylinder 13 in the widened diameter part 18.
