PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing a coating film, by which a coating film can be peeled off easily in a short time while suppressing the damage and deterioration of an object-to-be-coated. SOLUTION: This method for removing a coating film 1 from the surface of an object-to-be-coated 5 comprises a process for supplying a polishing agent 2 to the surface of the coating film 1, pressing the polishing agent 2 against the surface of the coating film 1 by the pushing face 77 of a pressure body 7, and crushing the coating film 1 to form a crushed coating film 15, and a process for removing the polishing agent 2 and the crushed coating film.
