PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pushbutton for engagement and disengagement of a clasp of a necklace or the like on the reverse of a clasp body and put on a multiple (multimodal) necklace. SOLUTION: An engagement and disengagement mechanism is shortened by storing and arranging a special spring 8 as a substitute for a coil spring on the back side of a clasp hollowly formed with an engagement material 7 in a pushbutton 6 for engagement and disengagement, and when the engagement and disengagement pushbutton 6 is pressed, the lower end of the pushbutton 6 butts the upper portion of a receiving member 5, and thereby regulates the slide movement of an engagement portion 7b.
