PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treating agent for cooking which decomposes or removes the undesirable odors and taste including in raw materials in cooking foods or suppresses the deterioration of the raw materials or the increase in undesirable components which occur in the process of cooking and further makes the ways of finishing, such as the colors and texture of cooking and products favorable and a method of producing the foods by treating water for cooking by using such water treating agent. SOLUTION: A titanium catalyst component containing titanium or titanium alloy or their oxide or their mixture is deposited on the surface of a carrier consisting of metal, ceramics or their mixture. The foods are cooked by using the water treated by such water treating agent for cooking. More preferably, this water treating agent is adequate for cooking of beans, seeds, meat, rice, etc., or for production of the foods, gelatinized foods, etc., consisting of these foods as raw materials. |
