PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the shape and layout of a desk which achieve an atmosphere of making any person psychologically feel at ease when many persons talk across one another. SOLUTION: The shape of the top board is so arranged as to set the front of one end part of the desk used for interviews or counselling at an angleθto the end part of the desk on the side facing it. As a result, the top board of the desk is formed so as to keep parsons, sitting facing each other on chairs arranged along both the end faces of the desk, from meeting their eyes directly. A screen 4 on the top board as partition between adjacent talking persons is placed being inclined also by the angleθ. This enables interviewers and interviewers to turn their eyes off each other without wondering how the eyes of the counterpart stand thereby allowing them to talk with each other being relaxed.
