PURPOSE: A method for preparing moisture resistant electroluminescent phosphor having high luminance and long life cycle is provided to obviate the disadvantages of the prior art and improve performance of electroluminescent phosphors. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing moisture resistant electroluminescent phosphor having high luminance and long life cycle comprises basic phosphors having formula ZnS; Cu, Cl and Au, and on which a moisture resistant coating material is coated, the coating material is selected from the group consisting of metal nitride and metal oxide/hydroxide, the basic phosphors have particle size of 22 to 24 micrometers, the phosphors have x and y color coordinates in which the x coordinate is ranging from 0.185 to 0.193, and the y coordinate is ranging from 0.417 to 0.471, and the half-life of the phosphors is 969 to 1843 hours.
