PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing a transparent and homogeneous cellulose solution, which has a short process time, is simple, and thus can economically produce a cellulose solution. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) introducing a cellulose powder and water vapor into super mixer and mixing them, (ii) introducing anhydrous N-methylmorpholine N-oxide and water vapor to the mixture, and mixing them, (iii) heat dissolving the three components system obtained from the step(ii) to obtain a cellulose solution. The cellulose powder has a size of 1,000-5,000 micrometer. The amount of introduced water vapor is 15-22 wt% based on the amount of the anhydrous N-methylmorpholine. A temperature in the super mixer is 80-120 deg.C.
