The method involves adjusting an actual value of an operational parameter of a vehicle (40) to a predetermined reference value. A property describing a vehicle parameter is determined based on the reference value of the operational parameter, where the vehicle parameter is a load parameter describing a property e.g. structural configuration, aggregate state, level, distribution, spatial dimension and/or weight information, of load in the vehicle. The operational parameter, the vehicle parameter and a vehicle position are automatically detected using vehicle measuring units.
