METHOD FOR PRODUCING FORMABLE POLYSTYRENE BEAD WITH LOW CHANGE OVER TIME

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing formable polystyrene beads which show low change over time and thereby, can be stored for a relatively long period of time and be transported to a long distance destination. CONSTITUTION: The method includes coating a substance having a hydroxyl group of a high electronegativity on the surface of formable polystyrene beads. The beads obtained from the method can inhibit volatilization of foaming material and thereby, do not show a great change over time and deterioration in properties due to contraction of beads. The substrate having a hydroxyl group of a high electronegativity may be selected from a group consisting of aqueous glycerin solution, a mixture solution of glycerol mono stearate and potassium stearate, or a mixture solution of glycerin, glycerol mono stearate and potassium stearate and used in an amount of 0.01 to 0.5 wt% based on the weight of polystyrene beads.
