PURPOSE: A collision detecting sensor of an airbag is provided to simplify structure, to reduce cost, and to facilitate manufacture by allowing the airbag to be operated by the pressure difference between a hollow portion inside a bumper and the outside of the bumper. CONSTITUTION: A collision detecting sensor comprises a hollow portion(12) and a relay(14). The hollow portion(12) and relay(14) are disposed inside a bumper(9) at the front of a vehicle body. The hollow portion(12) is formed inside the bumper(9) and has a predetermined size. The hollow portion(12) communicates with the outside of the bumper(9) via a communication hole(13). The relay(14) is installed inside the communication hole(13). The relay(14) is electrically connected to a controller portion(8) of an airbag. The relay(14) is a contact-point type relay operated by pressure difference between the outside of the bumper(9) and the interior of the hollow portion(12).
