USE OF HOT WATER EXTRACT OF SARGASSUM THUNBERGII AS ANTIALLERGIC MATERIAL

PURPOSE: A hot extract of Sargassum thunbergii as brown algae is provided. This extract shows alleviation of bronchoconstriction induced by an antigen of a guinea pig, thereby being used for the purpose of suppression of allergic symptoms. CONSTITUTION: The hot water extract of Sargassum thunbergii is used as an antiallergic material. For an example, 1kg Sargassum thunbergii is heated in 10L water for 6 hr and filtered with gauze. Thereafter, the filtrate is freeze-dried to produce 54g powder.
