PURPOSE: A common rail type fuel injection device of a diesel engine is provided to improve the engine performance and reduce exhaust gas by reducing the injected fuel amount at the beginning of the fuel injection. CONSTITUTION: A common rail type fuel injection device of a diesel engine comprises a high pressure common rail(15) storing high pressure fuel, a high pressure fuel pump(11) pressurizing the fuel in a fuel tank and supplying the high pressure fuel to the high pressure common rail, a switching valve(17) installed at the first fuel pass line(18) connecting the high pressure common rail and an injector to open and close the first fuel pass line, a low pressure common rail(23) storing low pressure fuel, an orifice(21) installed at the second fuel pass line connecting the low common rail and the first fuel pass line, an ECU(29) opening and shutting off the switching valve by the operation state of the engine, and a pressure control valve(25) controlling the pressure of the fuel stored in the low pressure common rail.
