PURPOSE: A device for preventing sudden acceleration of a vehicle is provided to improve travelling safety by automatically increasing or decreasing the brake force of a brake. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing sudden acceleration in a vehicle comprises a position sensing unit mounted between a servo(1) and a brake cylinder(2); a cable tension controlling unit installed on a hand brake cable; a cylinder body installed on the position sensing unit; a return spring contained in the cylinder body; a weight panel sliding along a length direction of the cylinder body through the return spring; a gear transferring rotational force of a motor; a push rod raised upward along the gear; a recessed groove formed on an upper portion of the push rod; a wheel cylinder(12) receiving hydraulic pressure while stepping on a brake pedal(11); and a brake pipe(13). Thereby, the device for preventing sudden acceleration in the vehicle improves travelling safety by automatically controlling the brake force of a brake.
