PURPOSE: A micrometer assist jig is provided to measure outer diameter of a cylindrical object in a rapid and accurate manner and reduce work process, by arranging first and second jigs tightly contacting the cylindrical object. CONSTITUTION: A micrometer assist jig comprises a first jig(5) coupled in a slidable manner to a main body of a micrometer(3), and which has an end tightly contacting the outer periphery of a cylindrical object(1) to be measured; a second jig(7) coupled in a slidable manner to the main body of the micrometer, at the position opposed to the first jig, and which has an end tightly contacting the outer periphery of the cylindrical object; and a jig fixing member for fixing first and second jigs to the main body of the micrometer. The first and second jigs have portions contacting the cylindrical objects, wherein the portions are split so as to increase the area contacting the cylindrical object.
