PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a barium titanate powder for a multi layer ceramic capacitor having X7R characteristic is provided to improve the dielectric characteristic of the multi layer ceramic capacitor by uniformly mixing the barium titanate with an additional agent comprised of an acceptor, a donor, and a depressant. CONSTITUTION: A source material comprised of BaCO3 and TiO2 is mixed and dried to be processed with a first calcination. The calcined powder is pulverized and an additional agent comprised of an acceptor, a donor, and a depressant are mixed with the pulverized powder in 100:1.6-4.0 ratio. The mixed powder is dried to be processed with a second calcination. A powder generated from the second calcination is pulverized. The acceptor is selected from the group consisting of Mn, Ca, Al, and Sc. The donor is selected from the group consisting of La, Y, Er, Yb, Ho, and V. The depressant is selected from the group consisting of MgO, Cr2O3, WO3, and Nb2O5. |
