PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of semi-solid metal is provided to increase the productivity, to cut down manufacturing expenses, and to reduce the size of the equipment by combining semi-solid forming process and forging process. CONSTITUTION: A continuous casting preform is manufactured with a continuous casting machine including a magnetic stirrer to be similar to forming products. A preform slug is cut in the casting preform, and the cut preform slug is put in a continuous heating apparatus. The preform slug is heated within the temperature range of 575-585 deg. C for 0.5-1 hour to be slurry at the mushy zone as mixture of solid and liquid. The products are manufactured with pressing. Variables during process are reduced with manufacturing the preform slug to be similar to the forming part. The productivity is increased with heating the preform slug after cutting. Fluidity is improved with manufacturing the slug through semi-solid forming, and manufacturing costs and the equipment are reduced.
