PURPOSE: A variable accelerator pedal system is provided to supply convenience into a driver by changing a length of an accelerator pedal rod. CONSTITUTION: A variable accelerator pedal system comprises a hydraulic pump(30) operated while turning on an accelerator pedal pressure controlling switch(40); a hydraulic tank(34) receiving actuating oil(32) from a hydraulic pressure chamber(26); an accelerator pedal rod B(22) expanded and contracted according to discharge of the actuating oil; and a spring(24) supplying resilient force into the pedal rod B. The hydraulic pump is operated by maintaining an off state of the accelerator pedal pressure-controlling switch. The hydraulic pump supplies the actuating oil into the hydraulic pressure chamber from the hydraulic tank. A pedal rod clearance between the hydraulic pressure chamber and the accelerator pedal rod B is extended by the resilient force of the spring.
