PURPOSE: A method for determining broadcast port is provided to solve the inconvenience denoting the division of a representative trunking port and a general trunking port, so that it is easy to set the function of the trunking port. CONSTITUTION: Switch systems(10,20) sets broadcasting filtering to the every trunking ports such as five trunking ports(P10)(P11)(P12)(P13)(P14)(P15) for setting the representative trunking port of the switching system(10) in the state that the power is turning on. Thereafter, the link of the trunking ports(P10)(P11)(P12)(P13)(P14)(P15) between the systems(10,20) is discriminated whether the link is in an active state meaning a normal connection state. Thereafter, the existence of a broadcast packet is checked among the packets of trunking ports(P10)(P11)(P12)(P13)(P14)(P15) repeatedly twice. The trunking port having the broadcast packet is determined by the representative packet.
