PURPOSE: Structure of a chassis for a vehicle is provided to improve the safety of an occupant by restraining the movement of a first cross member toward a second cross member in a head-on collision of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A side frame(40) is connected with a side sill(50) via a torque box(60). A first cross member(20) and a second cross member(30) are installed on the front and rear faces of the side sill. The rear end of a sub frame(10) forming an engine room is connected to the first cross member. A departure preventing bracket(70) is installed between the first cross member and the second cross member. Even if a shock over a specific value is applied to the sub frame in a head-on collision, the departure preventing bracket restrains the movement of the first cross member toward the second cross member.
