PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance uniformity ratio of illuminance in a longitudinal direction of a discharge lamp of light irradiated from the discharge lamp. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp includes an external electrode 5 wound in a coil shape along a longitudinal direction of a sealed container 2 on an outer periphery of the sealed container 2, and a short-circuit electrode 6 arranged along the longitudinal direction of the sealed container 2 and being cross-contact with the external electrode 5, and the external electrode 5 wound in the coil shape is short-circuited by the short-circuit electrode 6. Thereby, generation of an inductance value in the longitudinal direction of the discharge lamp can be prevented, and the light irradiated from the discharge lamp increases the uniformity ratio of illuminance in the longitudinal direction of the discharge lamp.
