PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a server system for teaching annotation information, in response to the collation of pictures photographed outdoors or the like. SOLUTION: An image annotation server 12 is constituted of a sample database (14) for registering form information to be information concerned with the form-like features of things and the annotation information of things, a receiving means (13) for receiving a photographed image to be retrieved from a client via a communication line, retrieving means (13, 16, 17) for collating the photographed image received by the receiving means 13 with the form-like information stored in the sample database 14 and retrieving an event and retrieving a thing suited to a target to be retrieved from the sample database (14), and a transmitting means (13) for transmitting the annotation information of the thing retrieved by the retrieving means to the client via the communication line.
