PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal transmission method and system that can efficiently transmit optical signals corresponding to serial digital data on the basis of digital information signals such as digital video and audio signals through a common optical signal transmission cable. SOLUTION: First, second and third serial digital data are respectively converted into 1st, 2nd and 3rd optical signals respectively with about 1.55 μm, about 1.3 μm, and about 0.83 μm, using a multiplexer means to apply multiplex processing to two of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd optical signals generates a 1st multiplex optical signal, using a multiplexer means to apply multiplex processing to the 1st multiplex optical signal and the rest of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd optical signals generates a 2nd multiplex optical signal and the 2nd multiplex optical signal is transmitted through an optical signal transmission cable. |
