The invention concerns an interferometric synthetic sonar antenna. It consists in processing signals derived for sensors of two superimposed parallel arrays (101, 102), forming the reception antenna, said two arrays being offset by half-pitch between sensors relative to each other parallel to themselves. In a first operating mode, the signals of the two arrays are processed to form a single synthetic antenna having a better directional angle resolution than that of the two synthetic antennae of the interferometric mode. In a second operating mode, the signals of the two arrays are jointly processed in auxiliary transmission frequency bands enabling to carry out self-calibrating of the two synthetic antennae with greater accuracy.
