PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly relirable method and device for mounting a part wherein a part is stably mounted even in such part mounting condition with small gaps between adjacent parts. SOLUTION: When a part holding part 13 is corrected for position and tilt according to the recognized result for a part 12's holding state by an image pickup device 5 to mount the part 12 held by a part holding part 13 on a prescribed position of a circuit formation body 18, whether another part 12a which is already mounted on the circuit formation body 18 interferes or not is judged by the part holding part 13 before mounting. If judged that interference occurs, the part 12 is not mounted and discharged at a prescribed recovering point. In judging interference, an interference judging region 21 is set in advance which considers the relation between the part 12 and the part holding part 13 as well as the relation with another part 12 which is already mounted. Even if a part of outline of the part holding part 13 protrudes from the interference judging region 21, it is judged that the part holding part 13 interferes another part 12a which is already mounted. |
