<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video reproducing device and a video reproducing method that can display a picture type of a picture corresponding to a static picture and number of bits of the picture. SOLUTION: The video reproducing device is provided with a bit rate calculation means, that calculates number of bits included in a picture corresponding to a static picture in the case of reproducing the static picture and calculates an average bit rate per a prescribed unit time in the case of reproducing a moving picture and with a video signal generating means that generates a 1st bit rate video signal used to display the picture type and number of bits included in the picture, in the case of reproducing static pictures and generates a 2nd bit rate video signal use to display the average bit rate, in the case of reproducing moving pictures.</p> |
