PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a space by housing a driving device in a partial chain conveyor corresponding to flanges of sprockets. SOLUTION: This chain conveyor 10 has the driving sprockets 14 and 16, the driven sprockets 18 and 20, a pair of chains 22 and 24, and the driving device 26. The driving device 26 has a fixed shaft 34, a rotary cylinder 36, and a driving mechanism 38 arranged between the fixed shaft 34 and the rotary cylinder 36. The driving sprockets 14 and 16 have bore holes larger than a conventional hole. The rotary cylinder 36 is inserted into the bore holes of the respective driving sprockets 14 and 16, and is out-fitted with the driving sprockets 14 and 16. The driving device 26 is arranged in a flange area of the sprockets to effectively use the dead space.
