PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk loading mechanism of a thin type. SOLUTION: The turntable 36 itself is demarcated by the external form of a brushless spindle motor and the chucking surface to a disk 11 is exactly installed at a prescribed height onto a turntable base 46. The top of the turntable base 46 is implanted with struts 47 in the three directions on the circumference enclosing the outer periphery of the turntable 36. Steps 47b at the top ends of the struts and a disk loading surface 36a of the turntable 36 are exactly composed of prescribed dimensions. When the steps 47b at the top ends of the struts abut on the under surface (datum plane L) of a driving substrate 15, the relative positions of the disk loading surface 36a of the turntable 36 and a pickup constituted on the basis of the under surface of the driving substrate 15 are exactly decided.
