PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent image by suppressing vibration and preventing a decrease in torque by varying a step angle at random when microstep driving control is adopted. SOLUTION: A main CPU sends information of read magnification when the magnification (image enlargement or reduction) is set with operation keys of a console panel or of 100% when no read magnification is set to a scanner CPU, which performs driving control over a scanning motor through a scanning motor driver with the number of microstep divisions of a step angle corresponding to the read magnification of the received information.
