PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a sensor for detecting the rotational position of a rotor and a complicated control circuit using an SR motor. SOLUTION: A plurality of rod-shaped conductor 22 is formed at a field magnetic pole section 21 of the rotor 2, and each of the rod-shaped conductor 22 is conducted mutually by termination plates 24, 24. The rotor 2 is started on a similar principle to that of a squirrel cage induction motor and is accelerated almost to synchronous speed. Thus, low-speed and large torque can be attained, and the sensor for detecting the rotational position of the rotor 2 and the control circuit for feeding back the rotational position can be eliminated.
